Craft Tutorial:
This rosette has a diameter of about 8-inches across. These same steps can be followed for a larger or smaller rosette. Simply adjust the width of the strips of paper, and the larger rosettes may need more strips, while the smaller ones may not need as many.
This is the double-sided paper I chose, fun colored snowflakes on one side and a light blue strip on the other. These sheets of paper are 12 x 12-inches.
Cut 4 strips of paper that measure 5 3/4 x 12 inches.
Score at 1 inch along the 12 inch side of all strips of paper.
Choose the front of your rosette and fold the 1 inch strip over the front side of each strip of paper.
Score every half inch across all strips.
Fold the strips of paper accordion style.
Using a glue gun, adhere all of the pieces together so you have one long strip. Then adhere those ends together so you have a tube, of sorts.
Prepare 2 paper circles. These can be cut with a paper punch or you can free hand them if you will be covering them up anyway.
On one circle place a large amount of hot glue in the middle. Place the accordion tube over the pile of hot glue and press the tube down. (I can’t do this step and take pictures at the same time, so if I didn’t explain that very well please watch the video tutorial below.)
Push the outer edges of the rosette in so that the inside edge of the rosette is in that pile of hot glue. The glue does take a moment to cool, so hold the rosette in place until dry.
Place another circle on the top of the rosette to really secure the rosette and keep it all together.
No you can embellish the rosette however you wish, or leave as is!
I told you they were fun to make!

Real-Life Use:
Recently a good friend of mine lent me a book and I wanted to return it to her with a little thank you gift (the book was really good!)
As a thank you, I made her a yummy loaf of banana bread. But of course, I had to dress it up a little bit, so I made an accordion paper rosette using the tutorial above with a few added embellishments.
So here is my boring looking (but oh so yummy) loaf of banana bread.
And now it is all fancied up with this beautiful Accordion Paper Rosette!
